De-risk your learning content strategy

Filtered has developed a completely new way of curating content. In weeks, rather than months, we can analyse all of your existing content libraries and proprietary content, assess them for relevance and quality, benchmark against other libraries and other free resources, and then re-tag it to make it usable in magpie as well as your existing platforms and programmes.

Curation is the winning strategy

The only way to make sense of the constant flow of new material is to curate. We specialise in curating at scale: selecting thousands of the world’s best learning resources and deploying them to our customers and users.

It starts with a good skills framework

We build them from our benchmark datasets to prioritise a set of tags based on your role distribution, your organisational strategy and the threats or opportunities on the horizon. Once we know what’s important, we use tag-matching and remove the duplicates to cut your huge libraries down to a much shorter list. Humans do this using cutting-edge techniques - it’s fast, not automated.

Seven criteria to establish quality

A good learning recommendation is a result of combining relevance with quality. We use seven criteria to evaluate the quality of a learning asset. Each one should be:

  1. Business-useful (applicable in real business)
  2. Visually appealing, persuasive, enjoyable, succinct (good value per word)
  3. Evidenced
  4. Original
  5. Independent: no in-content agenda (eg selling a product)
  6. Serviceable: available, mobile-friendly, easy to navigate, not full of clickbait/ads
  7. As a selection: a good mix of length and format-type

We judge our content against these criteria. A given asset needn’t meet all of them to get the green light, but it will need to meet a few and these criteria are useful priming concepts as we go down the list evaluating them.

But how do you keep it up to date?

Once the content is uploaded to magpie we’ll generate constant feedback data on its relevance, usefulness and quality. This data on what works and what doesn’t is the advantage that enables our clients to stay on top of the endless stream of new content that is being added by vendors, produced internally or published on the web.

Our data tells you exactly what you need, making weekly and quarterly updates manageable. Crucially, we convey our thinking and insights in Quarterly Business Reviews and using a detailed, market-leading Quarterly Business Report.
